Terms and Conditions for Services
Christian Walker Re-Entry & Justice Foundation and Christian's Closet
Effective Date: April 27, 2026
Purpose
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of services, programs, referrals, goods, resources, events, and assistance made available by Christian Walker Re-Entry & Justice Foundation and/or Christian's Closet (collectively, the “Foundation”). This document is intended to set clear expectations, define participant responsibilities, and reduce misunderstandings regarding the scope of services. These Terms and Conditions apply not only to the intended recipient of services, including any returning citizen or other participant, but also to any person who submits an online application, intake form, request for services, supporting documents, or other information on that person’s behalf. Any such submitting person agrees to be personally bound by these Terms and Conditions to the extent applicable, including all representations, acknowledgments, releases, consent provisions, communication provisions, and conduct requirements stated herein.
Important Notice
The Foundation is a nonprofit organization that may provide support, referrals, advocacy, re-entry assistance, material aid, educational information, and related community services. The Foundation does not guarantee any specific outcome, including housing placement, employment, benefits approval, expungement, court result, program admission, transportation availability, or continued eligibility for any service.
If the Foundation, its staff, volunteers, contractors, board members, or partners provide general information about legal, social-service, or community matters, that information is offered for general informational purposes only and is not legal advice. Contact with the Foundation, submission of an intake form, request for assistance, attendance at an event, or participation in a program does not create an attorney-client relationship, fiduciary relationship, or any professional-client relationship unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise.
Eligibility and Availability
Services are offered based on mission alignment, available funding, staffing, volunteer capacity, inventory, safety considerations, and program requirements. The Foundation may decline, limit, postpone, or discontinue any service, request, item distribution, referral, or participation opportunity at its discretion, including when resources are limited or when conduct raises safety, fraud, misuse, or mission-related concerns.
Some services may require completion of intake forms, identity verification, release forms, proof of eligibility, acknowledgment of program rules, or compliance with deadlines. Failure to provide requested information or documentation may delay or prevent services. If an application or intake is submitted by a family member, friend, advocate, caseworker, sponsor, or other third party on behalf of the intended participant, that person represents that the submission is authorized to the best of that person’s knowledge and agrees that the act of submission constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions on behalf of the submitter as well as the intended participant to the extent permitted by law.
Nature of Services
Services may include, without limitation:
· Re-entry support and transition assistance.
· Referrals to housing, treatment, education, employment, legal, medical, counseling, faith-based, and social-service providers.
· Distribution of clothing, hygiene products, household goods, food, donated items, or similar material assistance through Christian's Closet.
· Workshops, mentoring, support meetings, advocacy efforts, and community events.
· Limited administrative assistance such as help locating resources, completing forms, or communicating with third parties when authorized.
All services, donated goods, referrals, and program opportunities are provided on an “as available” basis and may be modified or withdrawn at any time.
No Guarantee; Third-Party Services
The Foundation may refer participants to outside agencies, employers, landlords, treatment providers, attorneys, government agencies, vendors, religious institutions, or other third parties. The Foundation does not own or control those third parties and is not responsible for their conduct, decisions, availability, eligibility criteria, quality of services, data practices, or outcomes.
A referral is not an endorsement, certification, warranty, or guarantee. Participants are solely responsible for evaluating and choosing whether to work with any referred third party, and for reviewing the third party’s own terms, privacy practices, fees, and requirements.
Participant Responsibilities
By seeking or using Foundation services, each participant agrees to:
· Provide information that is truthful, current, and complete.
· Promptly update material changes affecting eligibility, contact information, household status, or urgent needs.
· Treat staff, volunteers, other participants, donors, and partners with respect.
· Use donated goods, vouchers, referrals, and assistance only for lawful and intended purposes.
· Follow posted rules, appointment requirements, safety instructions, and reasonable staff directions.
· Not resell donated items, misrepresent need, duplicate requests through false pretenses, or misuse Foundation resources.
· Keep personal belongings secure; the Foundation is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property brought to events or service locations.
Intake, Communications, and Records
The Foundation may collect personal information that participants choose to provide in connection with intake, scheduling, referrals, case management, emergency contact, eligibility review, and reporting requirements. Participants authorize the Foundation to use that information for service delivery, internal administration, safety, donor or grant compliance, anonymized reporting, and lawful operations.
Unless the Foundation separately agrees in writing, information submitted to request services should not be treated as protected by attorney-client privilege.
Participants should avoid submitting highly sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary for the requested service.
The Foundation may communicate by phone, voicemail, text message, email, mail, or through designated messaging platforms using the contact information provided by the participant. The participant is responsible for monitoring communications and keeping contact information current.
Consent for Limited Information Sharing
To coordinate services, the participant authorizes the Foundation to share limited necessary information with staff, volunteers, partner organizations, referral sources, service providers, shelters, educational institutions, employers, faith-based partners, government agencies, transportation providers, or donors/grant administrators when reasonably necessary for program operation, eligibility verification, case coordination, safety, or compliance.
If a more specific release is legally required for certain information or services, the Foundation may require an additional signed authorization before acting.
Donations and Goods Distribution
Items distributed through Christian's Closet or other Foundation programs are donated or low-cost items offered subject to availability, condition, and suitability. Unless prohibited by law, all donated goods are accepted by the recipient “as is” and without warranties of any kind, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, condition, sizing, cleanliness, functionality, or suitability.
Recipients are responsible for inspecting items before use and for determining whether an item is appropriate for their needs. The Foundation may set quantity limits, appointment procedures, frequency limits, return restrictions, or eligibility rules for distributed goods.
Events, Transportation, and Safety
Participation in Foundation events, travel, site visits, volunteer activities, off-site meetings, and related activities may involve inherent risks, including transportation risks, interactions with members of the public, physical activity, weather conditions, premises hazards, and other known or unknown risks. Nevada sources discussing waiver enforceability emphasize that clear language and voluntary acknowledgment of risk are important to enforceability.
By participating, each participant assumes ordinary risks inherent in attendance or participation to the extent permitted by law and agrees to exercise reasonable care for personal safety and the safety of others. The Foundation may require separate event-specific waivers or parental/guardian consents when appropriate.
Release and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the participant releases and holds harmless the Foundation and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, contractors, partner organizations, and donors from claims arising out of or related to ordinary negligence connected with the participant’s voluntary use of services, attendance at events, acceptance or use of donated goods, transportation arranged as an accommodation, or participation in programs.
This release does not apply to conduct that cannot lawfully be released under applicable law, including gross negligence, willful misconduct, or intentional wrongdoing, if such limitations are imposed by governing law. Nevada authorities note that waivers may be limited when vague, overly broad, or inconsistent with informed and voluntary assumption of risk.
In any event, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Foundation shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost income, lost opportunity, emotional distress, reputational harm, or damages resulting from third-party conduct, service denial, delayed service, or resource unavailability.
Media Release
Unless a participant opts out in writing before an event or service interaction, the participant grants the Foundation permission to photograph, record, or otherwise capture the participant’s image, voice, or likeness during Foundation programs or events and to use those materials for lawful nonprofit purposes, including outreach, fundraising, grant reporting, education, website content, and social media.
A participant may revoke future media consent in writing, but revocation will not require removal of materials already published or previously used in printed reports, archived posts, or grant submissions.
Prohibited Conduct
The following may result in denial, suspension, or termination of services:
· Threats, harassment, violence, discrimination, or disruptive conduct.
· Possession of weapons where prohibited, or possession/use of illegal drugs or alcohol in violation of site rules.
· Fraud, theft, diversion, resale of donated goods, or falsification of records.
· Interference with staff, volunteers, operations, or other participants.
· Use of Foundation services for unlawful purposes.
The Foundation may contact law enforcement, emergency responders, probation/parole authorities, site security, or other appropriate entities when safety or legal compliance requires.
Minors and Dependent Adults
A parent, legal guardian, or legally authorized representative must consent for any minor or dependent adult participant when required by law or by Foundation policy. The Foundation may refuse services or event participation without appropriate supervisory consent or documentation.
Confidentiality Limits
The Foundation will make reasonable efforts to handle participant information responsibly, but cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality in all circumstances, particularly when using electronic communications, shared service environments, volunteer-supported operations, or third-party referral systems. The Foundation may disclose information when reasonably necessary to prevent harm, respond to emergencies, comply with law, satisfy grant or audit requirements, report suspected abuse or neglect, or protect the rights, safety, and property of the Foundation or others.
Fees and Payments
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, Foundation services are offered without charge as charitable or community services. If a specific program, event, document fee, replacement fee, transportation contribution, or fundraising-related payment applies, the participant will be informed in advance.
Any required payment must be made through approved methods and may be nonrefundable unless the Foundation states otherwise in writing or unless a refund is required by law.
Intellectual Property and Materials
Any forms, handouts, training materials, website content, logos, graphics, photographs, educational materials, and program content created by or for the Foundation remain the property of the Foundation or its licensors unless otherwise stated. Participants may use such materials only for personal, noncommercial purposes related to Foundation services unless written permission is granted.
Changes to Services and Terms
The Foundation may revise these Terms and Conditions, service descriptions, eligibility standards, schedules, and program rules at any time. Updated terms become effective when posted, distributed, or otherwise communicated. Continued use of Foundation services after notice of updated terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Termination of Access
The Foundation may suspend or terminate current or future access to any service, program, facility, event, or distribution opportunity at any time, with or without notice, when reasonably necessary to protect safety, maintain operations, preserve limited resources, investigate misconduct, or enforce these Terms and Conditions.
Governing Law and Venue
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the participant’s use of Foundation services shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Nevada, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Acknowledgment
By requesting, accepting, accessing, attending, or using services, goods, referrals, or programs offered by Christian Walker Re-Entry & Justice Foundation and/or Christian's Closet, the participant acknowledges that the participant has read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. Any person submitting an online application or request on behalf of the participant likewise acknowledges and agrees that the submitter is independently subject to these Terms and Conditions, as applicable, by virtue of making that submission.
