Sonya Williams, Executive Director

Sonya Williams is a civil litigation paralegal and nonprofit co‑founder with extensive experience supporting complex wrongful death, prisoner rights, and re-entry‑related matters in Nevada. She serves as co‑founder and a leadership team member of the Christian Walker Re-Entry & Justice Foundation, dedicated to protecting the dignity, safety, and humanity of people in custody and supporting individuals returning from prisons and jails, as well as families affected by deaths in custody.

Drawing on her litigation background and direct experience working with justice‑impacted families, as well as being an impacted family member herself, she helps guide the Foundation’s advocacy and service strategy, including programs that address immediate re-entry needs through clothing, essential items, and other basic supports. Her leadership emphasizes dignity-centered, survivor-and family-informed approaches to re-entry, and a commitment to strengthening community-based responses for people impacted by the Nevada Department of Corrections and the broader justice system.
